At our department, you receive treatment in line with the latest medical findings following a thorough individual consultation. Through international networks and extensive research, we have access to a great database of knowledge and guarantee the best possible care for our patients in a patient-centered network of departments, institutes and external partners.
Included in our field of treatment are diseases of the musculoskeletal system, i.e., of the bones, joints, ligaments, muscles and tendons, as well as fresh injuries, polytrauma, sports injuries and consequences of injuries to the musculoskeletal system.
Our department is divided into nine sections that cover the orthopedic traumatology spectrum, and in each of them our patients receive high-quality medical treatment from experts.
We care for around 55,500 patients in our outpatient clinics every year. 96 beds are available for inpatients treated at our department. The 5,000 operations performed annually take place in new state-of-the-art operating rooms. Under certain circumstances, they may also be performed at the department's own day hospital.
The uniqueness and the added value of our department are the result of the symbiosis between patient care, research and education. The department is jointly operated by the Medical University of Graz and the Styrian Hospital Association (KAGes).
